Bath Time!

Some cute pictures from bath time!
She loves her Angel's cup! And yes, she is in the kitchen sink still! It's WAY easier to give her a bath in the sink right now because she can sit herself up in there and it seems like such a waste to run all that water in a bath for 10 minutes! I think we'll start the big bath in a month or two! I'm doing my part to conserve water?

Can you see her top chompers???? They are still growing in. It's weird because her bottom 2 cut through the gums and then were grown in within the week. The 2 middle top ones cut through the gums a month ago and still haven't grown in completely, and the other 2 top ones are still cutting through the gums. Poor girl, it hurts me to look at it! But she is a tropper, she has been so good through it all! I'm lucky!
Look at the curls on her head when her hair is wet!! Then they just disapear when it's dry! It's so weird!

First Hair Cut??

Not sure this really counts as her first hair cut. I know, you are thinking, she's not even 8 months old yet, how can she need a hair cut already? But have you seen this girls hair? It's been out of control since the day she was born. She has grown super long hairs only on the sides of her head. See the long hairs just on the sides? Recently someone said they were here wings....Wings? So I chopped just the side wings so that the sides now match the rest of the hair length.

She had no idea what was coming!

Put the sissors down and back away mom!

Do you see what you just did to me?

The wings are gone and she looks so different to me now! But her hair will grow back and hopefully more evenly now!

Gotta keep the hair of course!

For my baby shower my cousin got me this cute box and now I have something to put in it!

What's up doc?

Finger food time!

.

And the winner is.....

Monday morning weigh in??

Jamie - 9 pounds 4.5%
Victor - 5 pounds 2.3%

Yep, you are reading that correctly! I won this week, I lost 9 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All that hard work this week paid off for both of us! I have to give Victor so much credit, he was up every morning before work and in the gym, honestly I worried all week about not winning. We both have been eating well and just kicking butt in the gym and now we have something to show for it! It feels GREAT!! 9 pounds?? I couldn't believe it! I know because I have the baby weight still on me that will probably come off a little easier then normal fat. And by easier I don't mean it's easy to work out every day and eat well.... But really, 9 pounds?? That's just motivation to keep it going!!! AHHH!! I'm so excited! Massages for me this week!!!

For anyone who watches the show the Biggest Loser, you know that week 2 is notorious for being HORRIBLE!!! I mean the first week people loose like 20 pounds and then week 2 they don't loose anything over like 5 pounds. So don't expect me to report big numbers next Monday, but I guess that means we have to work harder this week!

Good job on your 5 pounds hunny! Every little bit counts and it makes us feel good in the process! But... I still kicked your butt this week!!!!!!! :) Love you!

Fitness - if it came in a bottle, everybody would have a great body!

Oh, this week has been GREAT!!! Tons of work outs, eating healthy, just feeling so great about myself and not lazy! This morning Victor got up and worked out before work and then left for work. So I got my butt up and feed Alana and then packed her up in the stroller and took her to the gym with me. She loved it! Lots of lights and people moving around. The gym was packed this morning. ***Note to self, get up EARLIER weekend mornings to work out! I have to say how impressed I was with Alana though. She sat in her stroller and just hung out and watched me work out. She had a few toys that kept her company. I wasn't sure how everyone in the gym was going to react to me bringing her in with me. But I got tons of compliments on how good she was. Some lady said, "I see you brought your coach with you!"... haha! She is a lot of my motivation to work out, so yes! Everyone was really great about it!

I have to give credit where credit is due. The trainer I had for a few months before the wedding, his name is Aaron and I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate all he did for me. He taught me so much about working out. Half the time we worked out we weren't even in the gym, we were outside on mats. He kicked my butt every single morning I was there. But he is the nicest guy in the world so he did it nicely! He is really the most positive person that I've EVER met. I swear for me it was like boot camp! Just when I thought that I couldn't do anymore, he'd tell me to do more and I did. And then when I thought I couldn't do anymore after that, he start talking to me about the wedding... or telling me to do more so I looked extra hot in my wedding dress... I take everything he taught me to the gym with me everyday. Aside from just running on the treadmill, which I'm pretty good at, I do all this crazy stuff that works out my body so good! I get so sore and it's the best feeling EVER!!! Anyway, Aaron owns (?co-owns?) a gym in Irvine called Innovative results. Anyone wanting the best work out ever, call him! http://www.myproresults.com/

This was a picture of me before my workouts started. UH!

This was me days before my wedding! This is the picture I am striving to be like again! Here is more motivation for me!!

2 Beautiful Girls!

I don't know if I've said it before but my cousin Chrissy's daughter, Kali, who I watch during the week is seriously the sweetest 2 year old I know! She LOVES her baby Alana Rose and is such a great influence on her! Kali is very polite and listens like no other 2 year old I've ever met. She is always SOOO good for me and it's such a joy to watch her! Kali always makes Alana laugh and smile and sings to her and shares her toys with her. Alana watches Kali crawl around on the floor with her and I think Kali will be Alana's motivation to crawl! I know that Alana will look up to Kali and I'm happy that Kali is who she is. I love her as my own and look how adorable she is... she's got crazy hair, and I really never know what to do with it, but I love it just wild and crazy like it is!

This is the little rockng chair that my cousin Chrissy and my Aunt got for Alana at the baby shower. It matches the butterfly decorations in her room. This is the first time she's been big enough to sit on it and as I was looking at the pictures I realized that I had one of me kinda the same.... I'm a bit older then Alana I think, but look how cute we are! She sure gets her looks from her mama :)

The BIGGEST Loser!

So since season 1 of the Biggest Loser on TV, Victor and I have sat and watched as they find people around the country to be on the show. We sit each season on our couch, every week and watch as people bust their butts to loose crazy amounts of weight! Normally we sit and watch the show while eating dinner, or perhaps dessert... There is nothing like chowing down on some ice cream or eating some pizza, sitting on our butts watching people eat right, work out and week after week slim down! I know some of my friends said that they do the same thing, so I know we aren't alone! How do you think all these people on the show got that big!!

A year and a half ago we got married and 6 months prior to that I busted my butt EVERY day to loose some weight for my wedding (as most brides to be try to do). But I really did it. 25 pounds in 6 months! I was up 3 days a week at 5:30 am working out with a boot camp personal trainer! Aaron was amazing and taught me A LOT! On my wedding day I felt like a million bucks and was so happy to feel the way I did about myself because I was able to loose some weight and be so happy! I have always said... when all is said and done, the only thing you have left after the wedding is over is really the pictures. So for 6 months I counted every calorie that went in my mouth, my body did things I didn't think it was capable of, I worked out so hard, some days I cried. Every day pushing a little bit harder picturing me in my wedding dress and knowing I was going to display those pictures for the rest of my life for the world to see! Well it worked out great and I kicked ass!! ...

A few months after the wedding the most amazing thing in the world happened to me, I got pregnant! The first trimester I was trying not to eat anything that was bad for me. I stayed away from all of my temptations. I vowed I wasn't going to gain crazy amounts of weight.... Then the second trimester came and all I wanted was sweets. Didn't matter what kind, Ice cream, chocolate, cupcakes, cake, Twinkies, anything I could get my hands on. I've never been one for sweets, ever, so it was weird, but I gave in to it! I knew that it was going to be the only time in my life when I could be fat and cute... so I ate! Gained more weight then I should have I'm sure... meanwhile Crystal kept accusing me of making her gain weight too because I need a partner in crime when I wanted ice cream or taco bell.... And so my husband stepped in as well. We happily gained some weight together... That's what a husbands for right? My beautiful Alana Rose was born and it's all been so amazing! In the meantime I haven't really been doing anything to help my body get back into any kind of shape besides big.... Eating whatever I want doesn't help either!
Alana will be 1 years old in June and if I haven't lost my baby weight by then, shoot me! The majority of my immediate and extended family is overweight and has battled it for a long time. I promised myself I wouldn't fall into that category! Several people in my family have had surgery's to take the weight off because they were too big. I refuse to be one of those people I told myself I would never be!!! Nothing against anyone in my family, but I don't want to be like them in that way!

So here we are, 2009 and Victor and I started to do our own Biggest Loser at home! In a new place, with a super nice gym, we really have no reason besides laziness not to loose the weight.... So we weighed in on Monday and will continue to weigh in every Monday from now until our 2 year anniversary on June 23rd. We each have our own goals to loose a certain amount of weight, but our main goal for June is to kick each other's butt to be the BIGGEST LOSER! We are challenging each other to see who can loose the most percentage of body weight by our Anniversary! So the work outs and the subway sandwiches began this week. So far so good!! I'm sore as hell and it feels so GREAT!! Victor doesn't ever blog on here so this will all be one-sided... but I'm going to kick his butt each week! We have small prizes for the winner (me) each week and then at the end we have the bigger prize! Suggestions on prizes for each week are welcome! 22 weeks to be the Biggest Loser! I hope Victor realizes who he is going against and how motivated I am to loose this baby weight and to change our lives so Alana will already have the good habits from her parents when she starts eating real food.

So to all the people that want us to buy Girl Scout cookies... NO, go away please!!!! Anyone that works with Victor, I will pay you to bring him Ding Dongs and Cupcakes and anything that is bad for him! Haha! Just kidding, I want us to both loose the weight, but I just want to win more! So please help support us both! We will take any good recipes that are healthy that you think we should try! I will post every Monday who won (most likely me all the time)... So that everyone can see our progress!

***Hunny.... It's on Buddy!***

January 20th and only 1 post???

I know, I know.... We've been SUPER busy and without cable/internet for awhile too! Sorry! But we are settled into our new place now and finally got the internet back! How in the world did I live without it for so many years of my life?? haha! Yes, you youngsters, the internet wasn't around when I was younger....

Alana is doing great and loves posing for the camera these days! FINALLY! It only took her 7 months! Before I know it she'll be 8 months and then a year and then graduating college... It's amazing to watch her grow and learn. She has such a cute personality and smiles at everyone that says hi to her. We'll be standing in the grocery store and someone will look at her and she just smiles at them! Everyone compliments her on how happy she is all the time and it makes me feel so good to hear that! They say that a baby will be like their parents when they are young. We are pretty happy people and I think Alana gets that feeling from us, so she's just happy! She rocks out to songs and loves to listen to music and dance... she moves ALL around the house, she's still trying to figure out crawling but she's got 18 pounds to lugg around with her, so I'm sure it will take her a bit longer to figure it out!

She has 4 teeth growing in on the top all at once.... That makes 6 teeth!!! This girl is ready for steak and hot dogs :)

Here are a few new pictures, we will take more this week to post. And I promise to get some video of her rocking out up here to!
This is HER puppy Roxy.
How Roxy tolerates Alana pulling her ears and tail and trying to hug her all the time, I'm not sure. Roxy is very patient with her though.
Here is Alana trying out a new look, the Gwen Stafani look.

7 months old!!

That's right, my little baby girl is turning into such a big girl these days!

Lucky girl... See what she has to look forward too :)

She's so big everyone keeps asking if she can walk... 7 months old, I'm not in a hurry to get her walking!!!!
