Random Pictures

I took the girls to the park the other day, Alana got to swing like a big girl for the first time! She loved it so much, she cried when I took her out!

Kali had a great time feeding the ducks and I got her to pose for a few pictures! She's such a cutie pie!

Here is the cutest sweater Alana owns! It's a Harajuka Lovers sweater! (That's a Gwen Stafani clothing line for those of you who don't know) It finally fits her and she looks super cute in it! Thank you Nick (my former boss) for letting your daughter pick out such cute clothes for Alana!

Super Mom!!!!

So today Sarah called me super mom and it made me smile! Thank you dork! I try as hard as I can to be a good mom to Alana! I decided since I stay home with her, I have no excuse not to be making her food from real veggies and fruit! So, yesterday Haley and I went across the street to the Farmers Market where I bought some Organic Butternut Squash and Sweet Potatoes. Last night I washed, baked and purred them into Alana's first real food! My friend Eydie has a great website where she gets her info for making your own baby food, so I'm going from the info on there! They have a great idea to put the food into ice cube trays to freeze to save! Ice cube trays are about 1 ounce already measured out for you! SMART!

My mom dug out her Dinosaur of a food processor that did such a great job and I started to make Alana's food!

I purred everything and then poured it into the ice cube trays to freeze it so it doesn't go bad! You wold be amazed at how much just one squash makes!

Here is a video of Alana eating her first sweet potatoes! She loved it! I swear she keeps saying... yum, yum, yum as she's eating! She looks SOO big sitting in her high chair like a big girl!
To view the video (and actually hear it) Scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen and pause the music at the bottom. Then hit play on the video.

Picture of the day!

This picture was taken on our honeymoon in the Bahamas! We talk about the Bahamas and the City of Atlantis Resort all the time and will some day go back and do it again!!! This was one of the billions of pools in the resort! It started out like a beach, shallow and then got deeper. We spent many hours here laying in the shallow part drinking those tropical drinks! That was our hotel behind us. We got upgraded to the Royal Towers! Ahhh... I miss the Bahamas!!!

Soild Foods here we come.....

After Alana's Dr. appt yesterday we got the ok to start her on solid foods! I'm going to attempt to make my own food for her starting next week! But I thought I'd try to at least see how she would do with a spoon. I made her some rice cereal for breakfast and she ate it all!

First spoonful of food in her mouth, she was a bit unsure!

By the second and thrid spoonful, she wanted to feed herself.

Of course she was a super happy girl after eating her first bowl of rice cereal!

Finished every last bite! Hopefully next week with Veggies we'll be just as successful!

Thank you to the other Jamie G. for her first bowl and spoon!

Alana is pulling a Jacquie/Haley!

Alana has learned to take her own pictures of herself! Growing up my sister Jacquie took them of herself all the time like this, and then when I met my friend Haley, this was/is her famous pose! But Alana takes them the best!

Mr. & Mrs. Jake and Sarah Headlee

Yes, my pictures were great, but these are a few of my favorite pics that her photographer captured! Everyone keeps asking to see them, so here they are!

And my favorite from their honeymoon in Jamaica!

Congrats again guys! I had to post some of your professional pictures, cause mine weren't as great!

Another first!

Just when I think this week couldn't possibly be more exciting in Alana's life, she rolls over for the first time right in front of me! She was reaching for her chicken she loves to chew on! I didn't get a picture of the actual roll, but I did get some of seconds afterwards! I ALWAYS have my camera on hand for moments like this!

She was pretty proud of herself! (As was her mama!)

5 months old!!!!!!!!!!

Soooo... she just turned 5 months old and it's been a monumental few days for her! See pictures for details!

Here is Alana and her Cousin Ellie. Ellie is 3 years old and Alana is almost the same size as her!

Monday we were playing with her on the couch and she had her mouth wide open laughing and Victor found 2 teeth! They are the two front teeth on the bottom! We didn't even know they had cut through. Lucky us, she hasn't been acting like she is teething! (Keep your fingers crossed for the rest of the time!) 5 months old and 2 teeth breaking through the gums!!!!!!! 2 teeth!!!!!!!!

Here is a cute picture of her showing off her teeth!

Today was Election day so of course I went to vote. We walk into the polling place and the girl says, ahhh... HE'S so cute! UH! Seriously does Alana look like a boy? What about the big bow on the top of her head? People are DUMB! So anyway, I took her to get her ears pierced today!
This is a picture of us when she was happy and had NO clue what her mom was getting her into!

Lady cleaning her ears... still ok. (before)

After....

It was so sad but she only cried for about 10 seconds and then was fine and never even knew what happened!

So 5 months down and we have 2 teeth and ears pierced! She is getting to be such a big girl and it's exciting and sad all at the same time! Oh, my baby girl! She looks so pretty and girly with her little diamonds in those ears.

Sooooo Funny!

Alana Starting giggling recently and I caught a really cute video of her Aunt Jacquie making her laugh! A baby's laughter is the best sound in the world to a mother's ears!

Halloween Part II

We headed over to Victor's mom's house to go trick or treating with the kids! That lasted all about one hour! All the kids this year were dark scary vampires or monsters! They were cute!

Some how the three of us managed to pick a different character from a movie! Indy, Snow White and Yoda!

Halloween Part I

I say part one because Friday was hectic and it felt like I had 3 Halloweens! I baked cupcakes and cookies to take to Victor's hotel for a potluck they had there! The girls that work for him, are always so sweet to me and invite Alana and I to everything! So we headed over there at noon for our first Halloween session for the day!

For those of you who wonder what I do with myself these days, not working and all... I have a full time job right here at home! Alana and Kali! Kali is my cousin's daughter. She will be 2 in a few weeks and I watch her most days during the week. Give or take a few days! But she is such a good little girl, I'm lucky to be able to stay home with Alana and watch a 2 year old that is really good, sweet and listens really well. This is Minnie Mouse and Baby girl yoda!

This is Indiana Jones and Yoda!

And this is Yoda! How cute is she? I put a pink bow on the top of the head so people would know she is a baby girl yoda! Or maybe Yoda's daughter? So many people are surprised we picked out Yoda for her first Halloween. Why not a fairy or butterfly or some cute little bunny? BLAH! Every baby this Halloween was one of those, so we picked out something different for her! Did you see any other baby girl yoda's out? Probably not too many! HAHA! Us, being different? Weird, I know! But look how damn cute she is!!! Jacquie is pretty sure she is going to hate us for this when she gets older but I'm pretty sure she'll like being a little different. (Not little yellow bus different) just unique! :)
